Bio

Hi, I’m Maddie. My passion for travel and sustainability began at 18 during a four-month marine conservation program in the Bahamas, where I lived simply, dove daily, and gained a lifelong commitment to ocean conservation.

Since then, I’ve traveled to over 25 countries, developing my skills as a travel photographer, videographer, and marketing consultant. With a background in marketing and conservation, I specialize in helping small and sustainable brands tell their stories through visual content. I’ve worked with 40+ brands across the travel and sustainability space, and I currently run a marketing business with my sister in New England. I also co-own an oyster farm on Martha’s Vineyard, which continues to deepen my connection to marine conservation and sustainable living.

When I host trips, I’m focused on creating an experience that feels relaxed, collaborative, and creatively inspiring. I love helping guests slow down, notice their surroundings, and capture meaningful moments without pressure. Food, storytelling, and time outdoors play a big role in how I host, and I aim to make every trip feel like a shared adventure where everyone feels supported, included, and encouraged to engage at their own pace.

FAQ

How much hosting and travel experience do you have?

We’ve spent the past eight years building Baggage - a travel brand rooted in sustainability, community, and meaningful experiences. Through our work, we’ve partnered with locally owned businesses, eco-hotels, and responsible tour operators in more than 25 countries. Beyond content creation, we’ve coordinated logistics, managed partnerships, and thoughtfully designed travel experiences that prioritize connection over consumption. Living on Martha’s Vineyard also shaped our understanding of tourism in a real, tangible way — we’ve seen firsthand how travel can either support or strain a destination. That perspective informs how we design and host every trip.

What types of guests are the best fit for your trips?

Our trips are perfect for travelers who value intentional experiences over rushed itineraries. You don’t need to be an expert photographer or professional creator to join. If you enjoy scenic hikes, deep conversations, beautiful meals, and slowing down enough to really experience a place, you’ll feel right at home. We attract guests who care about nature, wellness, creativity, and community. Our groups tend to be curious, open-minded, and excited to connect with both nature and each other.

What is your hosting philosophy?

We believe the best trips feel intentional but never rigid. We create structure so you can relax, but we always leave space for spontaneity, reflection, and genuine connection. Movement, time outdoors, and shared meals are central to how we host. Whether we’re cooking at camp, hiking toward a lake, or sitting around a fire at night, our focus is on making everyone feel welcomed and at ease. Content creation is always optional and woven naturally into the experience - never staged, never pressured.

Why do brands enjoy partnering with you?

Our entire business is rooted in sustainable travel storytelling. We have degrees in Marketing, Communications, and Creative Writing, and we approach every partnership strategically and creatively. Brands appreciate that we integrate products organically into real travel experiences, and that we authentically tell the story behind the brand/product. Whether it’s apparel on a mountain trail, or reusable food storage at camp, our content highlights products in real-world use. We focus on clean visuals, thoughtful captions, and storytelling that connects with an audience that truly values sustainability and intentional travel.

What makes your group trips unique?

Our trips blend slow travel, time outdoors, wellness, and creativity into one cohesive experience. We move at a pace that allows you to actually be there — to hike, rest, cook together, swim, talk, and reflect. We prioritize meaningful interactions over packed itineraries. Guests leave not just with beautiful photos, but with stronger connections, new friendships, and a deeper understanding of how to travel more responsibly.

What is your long-term vision as hosts?

We’re building a community-centered approach to travel - one rooted in care for the places we visit and the people we travel with. Our goal is to host recurring trips in landscapes that inspire us, while partnering with brands and businesses that are aligned with our values. Over time, we hope to cultivate a returning community of travelers who believe that travel can expand you, ground you, and be done thoughtfully. Every trip we design is a step toward that long-term vision.
